New Branch to address rising HIV cases in Nadi

Two of our project team members, Dr Akisi Ravono and Mr Avendra Prakash (soon to join us as a PhD student), have been involved in the recent opening of a new branch of the Reproductive and Family Health Association of Fiji (RFHAF) in Namaka, Nadi.

The RFHAF (with Avendra as the board president) worked in partnership with the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) to launch this new branch. The initiative will offer a range of critical services, such as HIV counselling and referral, family planning counselling, and NCD screenings. Once its laboratory is operational in March, the centre also aims to provide same-day testing services, as well as extending their reach to underprivileged and hard-to-access communities.

Congratulations to Avendra and Akisi for their leadership and involvement in this impactful project.
